Runes of Exile is a puzzle/action game hybrid. Push the block into the portal while fighting off (or avoiding) the monsters.

Check out more of my music on Soundcloud.

Need help fighting the slimes? Try running under them when they jump  ... :D

Known bugs:

  • The player character shows its pushing sprite when walking into walls that are adjacent to the pushable block.

Feedback  and suggestions appreciated! Let me know if you find any bugs. Thanks.

please let me move the blocks faster

aside from that the movement and combat is pretty good

Thanks for your feedback!

Right so, the block-pushing speed is something I'd like to keep rather slow so that it leaves the player vulnerable to attacks while pushing. I might change the speed if I get more feedback from others. I'm also trying to figure out how to push the slimes "out of the way" if they are blocking the motion of the pushable block.

Rather nice concept of combining a light puzzle with some fighting. The visual style seems very nice and all it now needs is some nice sounds to compliment it. Sometimes it's a bit frustrating that you can't push a block when a blob is behind it and you'd have a relatively long way to walk there.

I'd like to invite your game to take part in our Game Development World Championship!

Thanks for your feedback! The pathfinding is a bit tricky, but it's something I'm working on. I'm also a composer and sound designer by trade, so adding audio is definitely in my plans.

I'm interested to hear more about the GDWC; is this the website: https://thegdwc.com?

Yes, that's it. To put it shortly, it's a yearly contest where indie developers like you can enter any game released this year for free, and then some winners will be picked by a jury in October. Thanks for your interest!
